Hello, I have a 2 year old RIR cross hen with gout. Her foot is large, & swollen. I checked for bumble, & there's non.

I'll have to take a picture tomorrow.

Her name is Gimpy, because she had a slipped tendon as a chick which I was able to correct somewhat, but as an adult she hobbles around with out troubles, & she moves like there's no tomorrow.

I did notice the past couple days she's been lazier then normal, & hasn't laid for about 3-4 days. I think it's because her foot is sore.

Pictures would be helpful. I have been under the impression that gout affects both feet, not just one. Of course, I am not an expert on gout, just a chicken owner.
I'll be taking pictures tomorrow. I'll look at her other foot too, but it has a callous due to hobbling around, so it might be hard to see if there's any swelling.

Here's her feet. She does having swelling on her other foot too.

That's just dirt, there's no bumble.

Here's a couple pictures of the top of her feet, but there's really bad light glare.

It still looks like there might be bumblefoot scabs on the left mid footpad and on the outer heel of her right foot. But it does appear to be gout as well. You could try soaking her feet in warm Epsom salts water and some try tart cherry extract orally to help treat gout. Here is a good article about gout:

There's no bumble, just dirt.
I'll was her feet off, & get better pictures tomorrow.
Thank you, I'll look at the article.
I'll have to buy some tart cherry extract.
