Thank you so much for the detailed suggestions! This sounds promising and I’ll definitely try it. Hopefully she’ll be able to heal up, and I’ll send updates when I’m able.

Update: it did seem as if this growth may have puss in it, but after making a slice with the scalpel, it was only bleeding. I tried to put pressure on the bleeding area, but as there was a continuation of blood and some was going into her mouth, I had to resort to some wound sealing powder, which thankfully worked well. She’s acting energetic and happy still, so we’ll see how things go…
