Hen with maggots on vent! PLEASE HELP!!

Sevin dust will kill maggots too.

On dogs, I use Capstar or Frontline, actually.

Sorry to say but she passed this afternoon

I went out to check on her and she was fine. As soon as I started to leave the barn she started to have, I think, some sorta seizure for ten seconds and then she stopped moving. I don't know what I did wrong

But at least she was comfortable these last few days. Roxanne was a good hen. She will be missed.

I'm sorry for your loss. For next time I'd use screw worm spray. It kills the maggots and keeps others away. I hope you have better luck from now on.

So sorry for your loss. The maggots probably not the cause of death. Most likely she had internal problem you could not see. Pale comb is symptom of many diseases/ illnesses. Refusing to eat was her showing you she was passing on. Sorry....
