You may just want to lather the raised areas in Vaseline to suffocate possible mites. It can't hurt the bird, and if there were mites, they would be gone.

If it's dirty, yes. Since it isn't necessarily an open wound, it's not necessary. Whether you do or don't make sure to apply the Vaseline for a week.

It looks like another symptom of Scaly Leg. I would treat it, to be safe.

That's a bunch of scales about to fall off that she has gotten dirt and maybe a little blood under. Don't freak they will fall off and heal up fine.

I haven't tried feeling it yet. I guess I'll find out when I put the Vaseline on it.
