Hi,

I have one hen of 21 total (Red Sex Links) that I've had for two weeks. They are just staring to lay. The hen in question keeps one eye open and the other closed and high steps, which I attributed to her vision. Tonight I noticed she moves her wings out just a little, but in an awkward way. Some times she sits alone in the coop, away from the other birds. I have been dropping 3-4 drops of saline in her eye and putting some neosporin over the eyelid, which I had read can help if the chicken has been pecked. I've done this three times, so far. Haven't noticed any real improvement. After reading some other articles, I've realized this could also be due to other issues such as mites, worms, or Mercks. Just wondering if someone could offer some suggestions? I have a tractor supply nearby, which I know sells some medications.

Did you ever figure out what was going on?
