Thank you so much.
I am not sure how old she is, she was dumped at the foot of my suppliers driveway. She lays 4-6 times a week so far, so I think she may be in her second laying season? I honestly dont know.
I am hoping that now she is in a clean new environment that it will get better. It is not as fiery red, thank goodness, poor girl, and some feathers are coming back so we are hoping.
i have checked for mites and nobody has them (I use a lot of DE in their run) but I did catch her in the act of pulling out her feathers. She seems a calm girl, they have tons of space, good food and a clean, large coop. The coop is for 16 chickens and I have 6, so lots of space for them. Their waterers and feeders are cleaned daily, their coop is large and clean - I got nothinā!
no more rescue chickens lol!
thank you for the advice, I will take it
