Hen with sever lacerations from rooster * Warning Graphic Pictures* Treatment in progess...

I have a little EE that was attacked by a fox, through our fence...her wounds looked similar to your girls. We took her to the vet to make sure he wing was not broken, and then coated the whole wound with blue kote. She stayed in the house with us for a few weeks and healed beautifully. She was around 4-5 months when this happened...she was the last to start laying, but other then she is perfectly normal now. In fact, she is our feistiest EE. I was just going to say that I am not so sure your Roo's did this...is it possible that she was attacked by something else and the roos were just pecking at it becasue tthey saw the blood? I have never heard of a Roo doing that kind of damage to a hen.

Here are a couple pics of "Braveheart"...(my daughter named her after attack)

I am glad she is on the mend!

I'm glad your girl healed so well! :) I'm really surprised she didn't get her wing broken!
No, I'm positive the roosters did it. I saw them gang up on her, pin her to the ground, and rip her feathers out. She was screaming in terror and pain. Not the normal distasteful sounds a hen may make when being bred. The lacerations on her side were exactly where the roosters feet are placed when mating and the scratches were starting from the top and pushing down. No teeth marks and the claw marks are nothing like a fox.
