Excellent. It was wonderful of you to take them in, give them such wonderful care and then save that adorable hen's life. Well done!

Do keep us posted...Hope is a perfect name for her!

U go Hope. Bless You and DH so much for caring and going beyond to save poor Hope. She is a very lucky chicken to have you both as parents. Thank you so much on behalf of Hope. She will return your love i am sure. Good luck and best wishes for a total recovery. All the chickens are lucky to have you both.

She may just stay your house chicken!
I'm so happy she's doing so well.
I think all the other birds heard how good your hubby is with a blade and decided they best not mess with that one!
LOL

Thanks for the info on the antibiotic. I didn't know you could give children's amoxicillion to a chicken. It is good to know. What a great job you are doing caring for those chickens! You are an amazing couple to perform that surgery. She must have been in a lot of pain to let you operate.

Well, she decided to sleep with her friends tonight. I was concerned when I saw her go in to the coop that she would roost on the floor, and get a dirty bottom ( do you have any idea how hard it is to keep a chickens butt clean?

) but she was on the top roost about 6 feet off the ground. I guess she is feeling pretty good.
