Hen with Sore leg

Okay so now I'm not sure which leg is actually hurt. The left she is keeping tight and curled up and the right she's keeping loose and out the way. The only differences I can feel can all be explained by the muscle positions. But on the up side she is walking a little straighter today. Down side is that Sebastian seems to want to mate her this afternoon which he has not tried in over a month. Pics of cluck cluck in spar just after I gave her 25mg of Asprin

Have you noticed any stiffness in her neck ? Just a thought but silkies are prone to wry neck. It generally starts with ataxia in one or both legs and then makes its way up to the neck. It wouldn't hurt to add a poultry multi vitamin to the water. In the meantime some vegemite dissolved in a little hot water and added to make a mash will help to raise the thiamine B1 levels.
Warm Epsom salt baths are very therapeutic .

She already has wry neck and is blind in one eye - was born with those 2 defects. She loves the spar - i will try the vegemite.

Oh well that sheds more light on her condition . You need to be getting a good multi vitamin that contains thiamine into her water. Vegemite might do the trick but she might not find it to her taste. This online poultry supply co are very prompt and will pop it in express post .
