Hen with strange thing on her eye

I have a hen with a glob(?) on her pupil, it doesn’t seem to move and is irritating her. Her eyelid and area around her eye is swollen which is making her a little slow. It’s definitely impairing her vision as she can’t see me when im standing on that side. Also she’s still laying. Let me know if anyone else has had this problem! Thanks, Skyler

It could a corneal abrasion from a scratch or peck and may lead to an eye infection or blindness. A vet for an exam and antibiotic eye ointment would be best. Can you see a vet? About the the only OTC antibiotic ointment you can get is topical Neosporin, as Terramycin usually requires a prescription. That is what I would use in the eye 3-4 times a day until you can get one.
