Hen with white stuff on bum

I dont have chickens anymore, but a friend of mine does. Asking for her. One of her hens has had all but the pin feathers removed from the hens bum and what is around the bum is white stuff. The white stuff is also on that hens beak. She has lost 3 hens in a few months and think this one will die to.

Hoping someone on the board can help, my chicken days have long passed.

moult is starting at the moment...

The white stuff can be anything, from poo to lice eggs.. post a pic that'll help.

It's possible the hen has lice eggs there which are irritating her as she uses her beak...your friend needs guidance in getting treatment for this bird. It's so hard when you see things like this...good luck, please let us know.

could have mites..
make sure to check the leg scales for crusts or raised scales.

could have a fungal infection..nystatin treats that..

what all does she feed?
what sort of bedding?
is it clean?
could be irritation from ammonia.
