Hi everyone!
Simone my Silverudd Isbar hen has some strange flaky white stuff on her comb and waddles. Is it from the cold or is it something worse like Favus?

Looks like a bit of frostbite to me. It will slowly turn black if it's severe enough. I don't generally do anything for it. Make sure you have good ventilation as moisture will encourage frostbite. Temps below zero will as well.

Thanks for the response, it's been very cold recently so frostbite would make sense.

Most of mine end up losing some of their comb points their first winter. I now try to choose smaller combed breeds when possible. Rooster tend to have more problems than hens as they don't tuck their head under a wing at night like most hens do.
