Today we found our hen laying on her back with her wings outstretched, panting, even though it isn't all that hot. She also is wobbling, and staying away from the others. An other hen has been laying on the eggs in the nesting box that they normally use, and she hasn't been laying eggs because of that for about 2 weeks. would this cause it? please help!!!

separate your hen and give electrolytes/vit in the waterer (your feed store will have this)... the panting will cause an electrolyte imbalance (why she is panting I do not know>could she be eggbound>if you suspect this then put her in a warm bath and lube the vent area with KYgel )
You may need to help her drink by regularly dribbling the electrolyte water alongside her beak.

Thanks alot!!! never of heard of curing a hen from being eggbound that way, but I'm sure it would work. Thanks again!!!
