Hen won't use one leg

I've been pooped on more times then I can count. I thought I was doing so good having the rump end off my lap. Poop actually went in my shoe. That was a lovely walk back to the house. LOL
20170802_210818.jpg I was under the roost and felt this one roll down my back.

I'm trying to be cautiously optimistic. She ate all the food I mixed up for her for lunch then got down and helped herself to some normal dry food. She had been stopping with a little food left and hopping away and back outside as fast as possible.
We did some leg exercises too. Sort of held her up and did the bicycle with both legs. I imagine her other leg is tired. She's throwing her hip off too by balancing on one leg ALL the time. She moves amazingly fast for hopping.
I saw her test her toes out too. She set the tips of her toes on the ground for a few seconds. At first when she started limping it was like more of a limp. She would use her toes to step down then hop. Now she pretty much has been only hopping. I'm amazed at her balance.
We'll see how dinner goes.

Eating all the food every time now! She gained an ounce in a week. Not much but I'll take gain over loss. She's using her toes a little to limp along. She accepts physical therapy after she eats but gives me a look about it. LOL

I'm glad she is eating now!

They can give you a look. I have one that I'm giving a little extra care right now - she's still with the flock - but when she sees me coming just for her - I get this look of
"oh no!" LOL She is fairly agreeable, but getting stronger, she's got some fight in her now, so I'm taking it as sign she may be doing a bit better - time will tell.

She is definitely doing better. I had a hard time catching her to give her lunch. You'd think getting special food and extra love was torture!
She's using her foot more. The problem is in her hip. After she eats I rub her bad leg and do some stretches and sorta exercises. Today her hip made a noise. Maybe she has arthritis? She didn't seem to mind it. Creeped me out.
I'll just keep up the scheduled food and therapy.

It's a lovely face, even if there is something on it:)

I'm glad to hear she is improving!

She's improved again. She's feeding herself for the most part. I've gone out with food several times and she eats some but her crop feels full quickly. There is already some food in there.
She using her leg quite a bit. Not running around all the time but when she moves she uses 90% about 75% of the time.
I gave everyone garlic wet mash today. They've all been wanting hers anyway. I had a good laugh when she gave Trouble, an 18 week old cockerel, the what for. He thought he'd try to sneak in on her food and she wasn't having it. (He did come into his name naturally.)

This sounds good! I hope she keeps improving.

LOL - yes, anything one gets, they all want it. A while back I put one bird that injured her leg in a kennel inside the run. She wanted out, they all wanted in....I would let her out in the evening - I would look back outside and she would be standing alone and everyone one else was crammed into that cage - goofy birds.

I love the tag football for goodies. If it's something they can grab and run off with they do. Then the chase is on. Doesn't matter there is plenty for everyone. Must have what you have!
They are quite comical. My Aunt refers to it as "the circus."

She's got something going on again. She was doing really good. Not walking totally normal but getting around good and taking care of herself.
Noticed she was limping pretty bad today. I picked her up and looked at her feet.

The original bumble is still doing something. It's not hard but her foot still looks swollen to me.

This is the foot she's not wanting to use...again. When I first looked she had a funny spot of dirt. I thought maybe a little poo mixed in. When I rinsed her foot I found this spot.

She doesn't like when I touch it. It almost looks like if you had a blister that deflated then peeled off. If that makes any sense. I cleaned it up and put neosporin on it. Then wrapped it up with a cotton ball for padding.
Very odd...
