hens a sometimes pale

I have 3 Rhode Island Reds and 2 of them are sometimes pale and sometimes red around the face and the comb but one is always red. Any suggestions?

How old are they and are they laying? Whether or not they have reached laying age affects color of the comb/wattles. Otherwise have you checked them very carefully for mites or lice? Have they ever been dewormed? Those are the first things I look at when a bird looks pale.

Thanks for the reply. They are 5 months old and havent laid eggs yet.Never de wormed. Dont see any mites or lice
