Hens and my dog

from the day that i got my hens they have lived happily with my dog George. He got the occasional peck when he tried to get their food etc and the hens chase him round the garden when he brings down his bones but it was never aggressive until now. It had been really hot and i had to clip George so i just shaved him all over a no.1 but as soon as he ran down the garden the hens all ran at him with their feather puffed up and were pecking him. They have done this every time they have seen him from he had his haircut. what can i do to let the hens know that this is the same dog as before?

I think you would need to be concerned if it was the other way around. If the dog began to get violent with the chickens. The chickens will figure it out, and everything will calm down after they recognize him as non-threatening.
