I wad wondering if anyone could possibly tell me why my older hens have white legs and yet my younger hens have yellow legs?

When they go to laying the yellow goes away. When they molt or quit laying the yellow comes back some. Same with the beak.

This is not uncommon as the bird ages. The yellow legs will fade with time.😊
Kind of like humans getting gray hair I guess.🤣
Assuming they are the same breed of course.

They've asked the important questions. What breed are they? Different breeds have different colored skin and legs.

Are they laying or were they, the young and the older? What is the laying history? If the hen's skin color is yellow she uses some of that yellow pigment to color her egg yolks yellow. By the end of the laying season their normal yellow skin cam be really pale. That means they are laying a lot of eggs through the year.

Those are the two things that immediately come to mind.

Thank you so very much I appreciate you! As for what breed they are I have no idea I have white hens and brown hens. They lay eggs however not every day they seem to be slowing down now. Most of them are 2 years old now.
