Hello! I'm a first time chicken owner, I own 3 almost 20 week old hens. Recently they've started screaming in the morning? Idk how else to describe it... It's like, *braawwwwk BUCK BUCK BUCK* ... But really piercing and irritating. I don't know what to do, they just started this a couple weeks ago, but they aren't laying any eggs yet! If you want to know the breeds, they are (1) silkie-easter egger mix, (1) buff Orpington, and (1) welsummer. I don't know what to do, my neighbors haven't complained yet but they're also really nice so I don't want to push it. If this keeps up I might have to give them away, they wake up my whole family at 7 in the morning every day! I've tried keeping the coop door open at night (the coop is attached to a very closed up run, it's super safe), I've tried letting them out later, letting them out earlier, idk what to do! I researched chickens for 2 years before I got them, and nobody said anything about this. Please help me!

My guess is they're practicing the egg song as they get closer to laying, and hormones are surging. They'll probably start messing around in your nests too, if they haven't done so yet.
