Hi! My hens and roos are about a year or so old (they hatched around June 2024) and I don't think they have started to molt yet. I understand that every chicken is different, and that some might molt a different times, but I figured maybe they should have started soon?? I have a bunch of different breeds, Australorps, Easter Eggers, barred rocks, etc. Any thoughts?

I wouldn't worry about it. I've had chickens for over 7 years and have only had one chicken, in three flocks, that molted hard enough that I could tell she was molting. The rest of them barely lost any feathers and only ever stopped laying because the days got shorter

Thanks for the quick reply! That makes me feel a little better. I guess I'll have to wait and see!

Yup, just wait and see. Provide quality food and clean water and let them do what they need to do. I always have to laugh because my cockatiel molts harder than my chickens ever do🤣
