Hens ate unhatched chicks

Try mustard eggs.
Hollow out an egg by poking a hole in each end, and blowing the insides out. Then take piping bag and fill it with mustard. Put these eggs in the nesting box, so when they break them open they get a nasty surprise. Most hens don't like mustard eggs. My hens liked the mustard lol! I have egg eaters to.

Many do like the mustard, birds don't have capsaicin type receptors.
Use liquid dish soap if you're going to go to the trouble of filling and egg with something.

There was two viable eggs, I candled them on day 10. There was no egg shells, one baby gone and the other had it's belly ate out.

Oh, that makes WAY more sense! Hahahaha! I was confused when I thought you said the broody ate them. Hahah!

I hadn't planned to comment, but darn it that adorable photo just now made me want to let my broodys hatch chicks this year. And i swore i wasnt gonna let them. Must. Stay. Strong. Congratulations on your mama hen and her babies!!!
