I have 12 hens and they are attacking one of the smallest constantly. They are acting like roosters towards her. She isn’t fighting back.
My mom texted me to come and help because they are fighting. I can’t help. I am letting her free range while the others are in the run.

Help!!!!

When the entire flock attacks one bird there is a reason. In her case it may just be her size and submissiveness. In such a situation generally the only solutions are segregation or a new home.

It’s not the entire flock, only about five birds. I locked the bad birds outside and the good ones inside. Both have water.

Are all these birds the same age and grew up together?
How old are they?

How big is your coop and run, in feet by feet?
Dimensions and pics would help immensely to spot a problem and find a solution.

This was going to be my question too, I feel like a lot of aggression is caused by crowding.

They have been together forever, since they were born. They were shipped to us as chicks. Now they are a year old.

I am like 99% sure it’s not caused by overcrowding.
Our coop is 8ft by 8ft but they only go in to sleep and to lay eggs.
They either hang in the run, 11 by 8 ft, under the coop(attached to the run) another 8ft by 8ft, and every day they have access to the outdoors, in a fenced area that is basically like free ranging. We use fences to keep predators out.
Also, they are only being aggressive towards 1 chicken. I have 12.

Is something wrong with that one hen?
Has she always been 'low bird'?

This might help.
Yep, but not the lowest like now. Nugget used to be the lowest on the pecking order but now Henrietta is.
I noticed this behavior about a week ago but it was never this bad. Lately, Henrietta has been spending her days in the nesting box, 24/7, and I believe she's hiding from the other chickens as I don't believe she's broody.

She's constantly making warning sounds, whether in the nesting box or not, like growling and "bagawks."

She plucked her chest/belly feathers, but that's the only behavior that seems as if she's broody. Could it be from stress?

Also, now she's not just getting picked on - she's picking on others now. Like, if I take her out and I put her near the other chickens, if one is near her, she screeches and pecks them, whether they are attacking her or not.
