We have had a hen laying eggs for the past 5 days, recently we took the eggs out and she was freaking out once she realized the nesting box was empty, Is this normal behavior? She was stressing out over that

Is there any way to stop this? I don't want her to continue laying eggs while stressing on weather or not her eggs will be taken

What was she doing/ how was she acting?
Is she acting broody?
She was mad and confused at everyone, the flock and the rooster, she was like that because of no eggs (I took them earlier that day), I put one back In there to see what happened and then she calmed down and inspected the egg, she was definitely confused. She ended up laying another In there

Yes I can, I'm just wondering If it was normal for her to respond that way
Yes it's normal, because to a chicken seeing all the eggs disappear from a location means it's not a safe spot to lay in anymore. It does no harm leaving 1 fake egg in nest boxes at all times so they always see it as an indicator of a nest site being used and thus safe.
