hi there could someone tell me if my hen sits on eggs and decides to give up and another hen goes in and continues to sit on them will the eggs still be ok and still grow ?

Black small leghorn (henrietta) was sitting on 13 eggs not all of them were hers from the 3rd august to the 7th august
Black large Silkie pure breed (Big Bird) then continues to sit on 13 eggs from the 7th until present

Will this be ok ?

I think they should be okay. You should candle them in a few days.

Should be fine. The eggs have not a clue as to whom is playing Mom.

i havent got a candler what else can i use ?
and i cant get underneath hen to get to eggs as she is pretty peckish lol

You can use a flashlight but unless it has high output it may be hard depending on the color of the egg shells. A good time to try and get them is night time as she will be a little more out of it but you still may get pecked. As long as the eggs went unattended for a long time they still should be ok. Candeling them will really be the only way to tell if they are progressing as they should be
