Hi there,
I have 2 five month old pullets that I added to my small flock in may. I've been waiting for eggs but yesterday, I heard a crow instead. However, I don't think it was from one of the babies...
Perhaps I am in denial because at this point I am hopelessly attached to this bonded, mismatched pair, but I really don't believe either is a roo! I have a dominant older hen, Cinnamon, who I honestly believe is the one behind the crowing. Could this be possible? I mean, the hormones are just flying around with all these ladies and with the babes "coming of age" could that possibly influence this odd behavior of potentially having a hen crow?
The attached photos are from A while ago. Both of their faces have turned much redder in the past week which leads me to believe certain hormonal changes are happening. I will add some current photos tomorrow. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
