Hens don't go in coop at night anymore

So... if I put cinnamon around the roost I will see if there’s ants?
The thing about cinnamon is that it disrupts the ants path and if they cant find the path they go away. Putting cinnamon on the roosting post, on the attached ends, would probably work if the ants have a path along the roost. If you put the cinnamon around the perimeter of your coop, they wont come in any more, hopefully! It puts up kind of a barrier.

Thank you!! Live and learn.

Diatomaceous Earth is an excellent choice against ants, and it is much cheaper than cinnamon. Sprinkle it all the way around your coop walls and dust it in your nesting boxes. Be careful not to inhale it though it is not so good for the lungs!!
Ok, thank you. I will take that into consideration.

A little bit. But I’ve also seen some ants crawling around the roost (the roost has a poop drawer where I put all the hay)... it’s unusual I’ve never seen it before..

If my coop is dirty (my dirty probably doesn't qualify with most "dirties" My girls are just spoiled rotten) They are hesitant to go in. But I wouldn't think that that would be the only reason :hmm
