Hens drinking from pond

I have a few free range hens and the other day I saw a couple of them drinking from my small backyard pond. I wouldn't want to drink the water and was wondering if it could be harmful for them. I have noticed poopy rear ends on them. Does anyone have any input on this?

I would not worry unless its a small stagnant pool of water...no movement...green green..bubbly looking goo! Lol my girls have been stealing sips out of the duck pools for years and their fine

Thanks for the input. My pond has a pump and bio-filter so it's not stagnant.

Then I wouldnt sweat it its gross but what can you do.... My goifballs will have a huge fresh waterer near them but will lap up in puddles!
