Hens egg is like JELLO!

Just eat it before it dries out. It won't harden as the calcium was never put on it. One week without extra calcium would not lead to soft shell, soft shells are usually a prolonged issue. "Old" hen sometimes have "old hen" issues like soft eggs.

The inside of soft shell eggs are no different from normal eggs. I personally do not eat them because I am not sure about germs getting into the eggs without the protection of the shell.

It was freakish when we saw it for the first time, since we have never seen one in the market.

Old hens problems are the reason chicken farmers replace their flocks after one year of production.
