Hens eye is swollen/dirty

My speckled Sussex has had dirt under her eye it looks like for 3 days. We wiped it and somehow today the dirt is back she has trouble keeping the eye open and now it looks a bit swollen please advise and help

Are the chickens picking on her? What is her rank in the pecking order? Maybe it was taking a dust bath causing the dirt to get in the eye.

Flush the eye with saline solution to remove all the dirt or debris. Gently pat dry and apply Terramycin eye ointment until healed. Plain Neosporin can be used if Terramycin eye ointment isnt available.
