Hey there I have an interesting question and hope that someone can give me some advise. One of my girls has developed a white mouldy growth on her feet. What can I do and is it fatal????

Sometimes a person's description of what they "see" turns out to be something completely different.

Can you post a pic?

The only thing I can think of right off is scaley leg mites. You would need to put some vaseline or Vicks vapor rub ointment and put on the legs really good. Rub it reallllllly good! Then repeat in seven to ten days. Scales off from the legs might be lifted and it is normal because of the damages they do.

Also, take care of your roosts as well since the mites like living in there as well.

They are not usually fatal or pass down to humans but it can drive a bird crazy that it would quit eating because of the irratation they give off.

So there you go!

That's the same thought I had. But the only time I ever saw anyone mentioned something along these lines the bird's feet just needed a good cleaning. Evidently whatever the bird had been scratching around in got caked on the feet.
