Hens first egg, no shell and she was pecking at it?.

Hello,

I'm brand new to chickens I've had my 4 girls for 2 weeks now they are 20 weeks old. Last night we have our very first egg it was a perfect little eggy.

Tonight we had the first egg from a different hen, it had no shell and she was having a good peck at it. I removed it from the nest box and she has been acting her normal self.

Is this something I should be worried about?.

You don't need to worry, it's called a soft shell egg and my hens are a year old and I will occasionally have a soft shell egg. And some hens first eggs are soft shells.:cd

Do you think she was just curious?, that's why she was pecking at it?.

She probably was because it was her first egg.
