I have a small yard and a flock of nine girls. I went door to door and let my neighbors know I was getting chickens, asked if they minded, told them no way was I getting roosters, and I promised eggs once in a while to them. they were all on board and they even come over and feed them scraps lol. my chickens do the egg song a lot also, and its so funny to hear, I do worry some times someone will get mad, but its been a year and no ones complained.

I am beginning to believe that the "egg song" is more than about laying an egg, especially when the whole flock joins in. Be glad you don;t have a rooster that joins in. My roosters deeper voice carries much better than the hens.

Well, I left town for a week and my husband diligently cared for my girls. I was surprised at how much quieter they are than they were 2 weeks ago. Phew! 3 of 7 are laying, so hopefully we're almost through the peak noise.

@joannarashid-I just found this thread and was wondering how things are going with your chickens? I feel I am constantly worrying about if my neighbors are bothered by my chickens when they have their "outbursts". I am always running outside if I hear them being really loud to try and quiet them down. It's not fun.
