I have had a time with my hens for the past couple of months. Every once in a while i will get 1 or 2 hens that will have trouble walking. They just waddle around and sometimes cant even stand up. After taking them away from the rest of the chickens and keeping them confined in their own pen and giving them some tlc they eventually become back to normal like someone is flipping a switch. Then a week or so will go by and another will have the problem. same routine and they are good as new. sometimes it last a couple days some times a week. I have not lost any chickens during this. The only medication i am giving them are some vitamins and electrolytes i add to water that i got from the local tractor supply co. I have changed feed with no apparent changes there. If it were mareks i dont believe the chickens would get back to normal and act like nothing happened. I am really confused and cant figure out what the heck is causing this. They eat and drink completely normal during all of this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a hen who has shown similar symptoms in just the last couple of days. She has trouble walking and stands more upright than normal with her tail feathers almost dragging the ground. She is eating and going outside and can get to her roost but it is difficult for her. I would appreciate by advice as well.

If she looks like a penguin walk, she could be egg bound or other problems like internal lay, abdominal issues.

Check your hens abdomen area. Of course it could something else, try vitamins in there water, deworm with safeguard and treat for mites.
