Any idea why in recent days when I let our girls out to free range several of them extend their necks at each other to stand up tall and then start fighting? Is this a pecking order issue or something else??

Ages are all over, but the ones that seem to do it the most are the oldest ones at 3 years. I thought it seemed like something roosters did/do but yes I am certain they are hens.

This is an old image but the original 6 of which several do this.. I should have taken a video of it, one day it was 3 of them and then they started pecking each others heads and one jumped on top of the other..never seen this kind of behavior in the past.

That's not so much a picture as a blurcture. Hard to make out enough details to tell if one is a sneaky roo or not.

How big is the coop? The run?

Have you changed anything recently?

All appear to be red sexlink females.Sounds like it’s just them possibly readjusting the order.
Could be a space issue, what are they being fed?Have you added any new birds in the recent weeks/months?
