hens lay together

i pic up my eggs everyday and notice that every nest that is used will have two to four eggs in them. why are they all laying in the same places? i haVE PLENTY of nest avalible to use. i thought they would each pic there on nest. thanks for aNY ADVICE. backyard chicken is the best!!!!!

I have plenty space and mine do the same. No worry. They just do that.

I have 9 hens, and they all lay in the same nest too - even though there are 3 nests available. I guess they just like a particular one. Weird little animals!

All mine do that, too. There seems to be a few favorite places and nothing but those will do. What's really funny is when the nest is occupied and there's a line of disgruntled hens waiting - even though there are a whole bunch of unoccupied nests right there! OR when someone goes broody in the favorite nest - that's a war, right there.
