Hens laying egg but no rooster around

HELP!!! I was recently given two hens and now they are laying eggs about every two days. Laying eggs, not strange, however, I have no rooster. Is that normal and are the eggs edible?

Hens will lay eggs wether there is a rooster around or not. Yes, the eggs are perfectly edible. They are the same things you buy in the grocery store. Only they will taste much better.

Hens will lay without a roo....they are great eggs...just not fertilised so they wont hatch out babies. yummy!! Fresh eggs...enjoy them!

Just like the eggs you buy at the grocery store, your hen's eggs are not fertile. Now that she's laying eggs, you won't have to buy any from that darn grocery store.
