I have noticed that my hens, who were laying very well, have started to slack off. Of course, it has been a bad winter with a lot of snow. I don't like it; maybe they don't like it either.
I have been giving them 20% protein layer feed and this is a new kind of feed for them. I had been feeding 16%. I thought the 20% would be better for them, but I am wondering if it isn't.
Does anyone know--is it possible to give them too much protein and have it affect laying?
Thanks.
Catherine
