Hens not laying and molting.

Hello,

I have a small flock of three red star Hens that are almost a year old to date. Last week they stopped laying almost all at once. When I cheked them yesterday there were feathers every where. I could see loose fethers on all them. Is this normal and what should I do to help them?

I live in Mid Michigan and we did just break a wicked cold snap. We were in teens now it's in the mid 40's

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan

Perfectly normal, and no reason to be concerned. You might want to give them a higher protein food for a while to help support new feather growth.
