I have 5 ISA browns. They are 3 years old. We are located in Mid Michigan. About 1.5 months ago two of them all of a sudden became broody. They don't want to leave the coop! I don't think they are laying anymore either? One of them when I pick her up to remove her from the nesting box, she would just lay on the ground for a few minutes then get up and move around to eat. She would stay out for a little while then go back to the coop. The second one doesn't do that when I take her out of the coop but if I don't close the coop door they will both go right back in there. The only other thing I noticed is both of their combs on top are a lot smaller. They aren't real red but I'd say pinkish. This week I am noticing some feathers in the nesting boxes. Could they just be molting? How long is that process? No pasty butt or anything like that. Anyone run a crossed this before?

I have an ISA Brown broody right now.
She does the same exact things.
In my experience, they are very difficult to break. You might just let her go…. Or give her a box of chicks. Mine is a great mama.
The pink come is perfectly normal, and mine looks just like that.

Good luck!!!
