Hens not laying yet

I'm having the same issue!! All of my hens are 26 and 28 weeks old and none are laying yet. (My Roo crowed once, about 4-6 wks ago, and hasn't uttered a peep since! Pun intended!) I've put a light out there so they get enough 'daylight' hours, as their coop/pen is back by the creek and under some big trees and doesn't get as much daylight now that we're headed into Winter. Anyone have any ideas, suggestions, advice, etc? Truly appreciate it! They need to earn their keep!! LOL
