Hens not laying

My 8 girls are 1 year old in February and ALSO stopped laying recently. We live in Hawaii, so we don't have super short days. We are getting maybe 2 eggs a week right now. My husband is getting really upset that I've spend as much as I have and they layed for only a few months June - Nov and now nothing. What else could it be?

Are you seeing a lot of feathers? Even without daylight hour changes chickens still molt. They'd be young for it but it's not crazy to think of.

Yes. We have seen a lot of feathers. What causes molting so young?
Genetics, mostly. And seasons.
http://extension.msstate.edu/content/molting-laying-hensDid you get from show breeders, game breeders or otherwise wild-type stock? This trait is more typical in birds like that. Birds that molt early show better and wild jungle fowl molt for breeding, which means that first molt being earlier in life gives them a better chance to mate so more wild type birds molt earlier.

For most small production it's not going to make a gaping difference once the molt ends. But you might see fewer eggs than if you had later molting hens.
