We have 11 buff orpington chickens who are 16 months old. They appear healthy and active but egg production has dropped significantly and yesterday there were no eggs at all! Our feed store suggested that they are eating the eggs but there is no evidence. Any feedback is appreciated!!!

Are they getting enough daylight? The right diet? Are there any places they could be laying outside of the nest boxes?

That is my thoughts, they are hiding the eggs from you.

What do you feed would be the next question. How is the weather where you are? Extream heat will slow them down alot. Change in feed will also affect them.

We feed Layena pellets, cracked corn, a few fresh veggies and any leftover bread. I always make sure they have two water sources. It has been hot this summer. Think I'll be going on an egg hunt. Thank you both.
