Hens not setting

I have 8 Barred Rock hens, 4 are between 2 and 3, 2 are a little over a year and 2 are about 8 months, all are laying good, but none seem to want to go broody. I have 1 hen that stays on the nest for a few hours at a time, then she will leave after laying her egg. I tried putting eggs under her and she tuffed them under her, but then she left them. Is there something I can do to intise them to set? I'm wanting chicks and not having much luck with the incubator, of coarse a lot of that could be my incubator, I'm getting a new one.

You can't 'force' or even 'encourage' and bird to go broody.
Either she is or she's not.
Most any bird will tuck an offered egg as you describe,
and some are 'loungers' staying in the nest before and after laying.

I'll assume you have a cock/erel who's getting the job done?
You've checked the yolks for fertility?
