What i was thinking of doing was let the hens lay and hatch their own eggs...raise the chicks myself...have a seperate moveable coop for them until old enough for meat....also raising the chicks myself will hopefully get the hens laying and out of brooding. They have been laying on avg 3 eggs so far. Ive had em a month and they are healthy and active....though not free range (not overly safe here) they have plenty of room now but i dont wanna overcrowd with growing chicks. Also getting a setup for the chicks is gonna be simple i have most of it already but an incubator with a new chicken tractor is starting to get too expensive
