Hen's or Roo's?

At this age, spurs or buds will tell you nothing. Roosters of this age often don't have anything but a bud, while females often have the same buds. Some hens have wicked spurs at they mature, and some roosters don't get decent spurs until a year or so.

Hens can crow, but not at this age. Crowing hens are older, dominant or hormonally imbalanced birds. Any bird crowing at this young age is male, sorry.

First bird is male. Large, red comb, coloring, leg thickness all say male. Plus, crowing

Breed is some leghorn-based hybrid.
Second bird is male. That's actually a pretty red pea comb, and decent size. It won't get as impressive as a straight combed birds', but that's male. Plus, the patchy red coloring on the shoulders, thick legs and stance all say male. Breed is Easter egger.
Third bird....I'm on the fence. I'm leaning toward slow maturing cockerel, the bird just looks masculine to me. Thick-ish legs and looks to have darkish shading on the wings, but I'd sure expect to see a lot more comb at this age, so I'll hold out hope for pullet for you

just in case. Breed is some hatchery Red, like a production Red or Rhode Island Red.

Thanks for the responses! I appreciate your feed back. Just curious what clues tell you that "Roxy" is a Rooster? I'm new at this and would like to learn what clues you are seeing. Thanks.

Roxy has the tell tale red on wings. That is very typical for an EE rooster. The curved tail feathers don't hurt.
