Hens or toms

My 10x20 pen is separated so I can make it 2 10x10 pens. I think I'll cull a red tom and keep a red tom with the red hen. And keep my blue hen and big tom together. I'll wall up the separation so the toms can't see each other and fight through the fence.

Toms need more than one hen, more the better.
100 sqft is the usual recommend per turkey, 10x20 is enough for 2 turkeys

Im not even gonna get into the how much sqft per bird discussion that varys with every person any given day in any given hour. Ill keep 4 in a 10x20 separated pin if they look deprived I'll make changes if needed. They're happy and show no troubles this far into having them.

1st picture is my hen with a Mohawk. The other pictures are what I think are Jake's. They have no Mohawk at all. Do all hens have a mohawk?

The first is definitely a hen.

Your last photo appears to be showing the development of black on the lower edges.

All hens have "mohawks" but not all "mohawks" are equal. Some have big bushy ones while others may have a very fine line of tiny feathers for theirs.

Give them another month or two and you should be able to know for sure.
