You might consider putting some Vet RX in their water for a while - it helps in preventing certain problems. And some Avia Charge 2000 in their water, also. It provides a multitude of nutrients and dissuades them from pecking at each other.

You must, without haste, remove the picked rooster from the flock and nurse him back to health before re-entering him into the coop with those who are now comfortable with picking at him. You will surely see a more developed and difficult to contain picking problem if you don't. Do it now.

I want to thank you guys for all the help... his feet have healed and i let him back with the other chickens....sadly they have made his feet bleed again... so i guess we will have to get rid of him
does any anyone think they just dont like him?????????

Sorry to hear that. Did you watch them for a while after returning him (one or multiple nippers)?

Is there a way to post picture(s) of his feet and the other roo's feet?

This was happening to my roo as well. I seperated him and he got well and when I put him back with the others, he got injured again. I stayed out there watching and discovered it was only one hen doing it. Now she is in "chicken jail". The rooster has had no more problems.
Watch them and see if you can figure out which hen is doing it. If you get rid of him and keep the nibbler, she might start picking on someone else later....better to get rid of the picker instead of the victim.

thanks never thought of that! i dont have pictures because his feet are better now this last time they didnt get him real bad! i let him out to free range on which he is staying around the coop but on the out side. i put him back in the small cage at night! wonderful thing my dogs dont even mess with him!!! i will put him back in and see what happens and who are the nippers! thanks
