hens run roosters do not

Has anyone every heard of one factor in determining the sex of chicks by when startled the hens will run but the roosters will not?

I have heard of that, but I'm not sure how accurate it is.... I have hens that run right up to people and are not scared of anything, and a rooster who hides in the corner...

I'm going to call it nonsense! Not something that worked in my flock!

Thanks for the replies..I had heard that and my 6wk old chicks were startled today and 5 ran and 2 didn't. Don't know which are pullets or cockerals yet. Old wives tale I guess.
