Hens sneezing, coughing, & rattling in chest.

Well the Tylan came in today... I tried to give the injections but it was very hard to do because
a) I have never done this type of thing before
b) I was doing it by myself
c) I just got these hens and I think that the previous owner must have never really held them. They fought me hard.

So I remember reading on hear that you can put the dosage down their throat..I did that. They hated it, they coughed and sneezed and the medicine came out their noses and eyes. I went ahead and treated the whole flock to be on the safe side. The sick ones have very crusty and conjested noses today. They still smell bad too. I can't even describe the smell..sour death. They are stilll eating alright though. While I was treating the blue cochin I parted her feathers to look at her skin and I noticed a small brownish bug crawl across her neck. Is this a mite? And if so how do I treat it and how soon should I treat it? I don't want to over medicate because they are real sick right now.

Also do I refrigerate the Tylan?

This morning when I checked on them everyone seemed to be doing just about the same with exception of my little bantam rooster. He sneezed and his nose is crusty. UUUGGGHH!!! He was fine yesterday. Which I guess it is okay because I treated him yesterday when I treated the rest just to be on the safe side. I did notice that the Buffs have runny watery poo. I am still giving everyone a mix of grape jelly, yogurt, and sunflower seeds as a snack so I'm hoping this will curb the runny poo. I'm really crossing my fingers and hoping everyone pulls through. Can gunieas get this too? My neighbors have gunieas who hang out in my yard all day and I really don't want them to get sick or give it back to mine.

Also when would it be okay to get new chickens? I know that mine will be carriers forever and will probably give it to anyone new that I get. So does it matter how long I wait? I wouldn't be putting them with the sick Cochins or anything until the Cochins get better.

Thank you everyone for the great advice. I would probably lose it without yall guiding me through things like this.
