Well the Tylan came in today... I tried to give the injections but it was very hard to do because
a) I have never done this type of thing before
b) I was doing it by myself
c) I just got these hens and I think that the previous owner must have never really held them. They fought me hard.
So I remember reading on hear that you can put the dosage down their throat..I did that. They hated it, they coughed and sneezed and the medicine came out their noses and eyes. I went ahead and treated the whole flock to be on the safe side. The sick ones have very crusty and conjested noses today. They still smell bad too. I can't even describe the smell..sour death. They are stilll eating alright though. While I was treating the blue cochin I parted her feathers to look at her skin and I noticed a small brownish bug crawl across her neck. Is this a mite? And if so how do I treat it and how soon should I treat it? I don't want to over medicate because they are real sick right now.
Also do I refrigerate the Tylan?
