Hens squawking

So Two of my hens started squawking at each other in the nest box. 1 went away and the other about her business, whatever it was. I went in to check and as soon as she saw me, she started squawking again. I left, she came out of the box, perched up and squawked for a few minutes and is now sitting back in the box. Is this broody or is she just trying to get some peace to lay her egg?

When hearing a hen "squawking" around egg laying time, look for something that might be irritating her such as a potential egg predator. Distinguish "squawking" from the "egg song" before egg produced and the "bawk" produced when exploding away from nest that I think helps reunite with rooster. Snake is what I generally think of.
